This standard interface makes it even easier for users to maintain and share customer files. “With this interface we save even more time and we can offer our customers more quality,” says Director Kees Groeneveld of launching customer Euro Nordic Logistics.

Online platform

CargoSnap offers a mobile app that allows users to easily take photos, videos or scans, store them in the cloud and share them with colleagues, customers or clients. The images can be found via a secure online platform using a reference number.

The new standard interface with Softpak logistics software makes viewing CargoSnap images even easier. Softpak software automatically adds photos, videos and scans that are linked to a barcode or order number with the CargoSnap app to the relevant digital file. Companies that use Softpak’s transport or warehouse management system (TMS or WMS) only have to click on a link to view the corresponding images.

Less time, more quality

The all-round service provider in maritime logistics takes hundreds of photos per day. This concerns photos of the loads in the warehouse, trucks, containers and seagoing vessels, the condition of containers and any damage to goods. “Our customers want the guarantee that a container is clean and undamaged before their goods are loaded. What’s easier than just taking a photo? We used to have to read about five cameras at the end of each day and archive all images manually. With CargoSnap this is no longer necessary. The standard interface with Softpak now offers even more convenience. We can now clarify any claims about damage more quickly,” Groeneveld explains.

For Softpak, the integration with CargoSnap means a welcome enrichment of the product portfolio. The software company has been supplying IT solutions for forty years, mainly to logistics service providers operating in seaports such as Rotterdam, Moerdijk, Vlissingen, Amsterdam and Antwerp. “Developments in the field of digitalization and mobile applications are moving very quickly. We cannot and do not want to develop everything ourselves, but consciously choose to link with specialized solutions that have proven themselves in practice. Such as CargoSnap,” says Geerten Verbeet, account manager at Softpak.

The standard interface provides extra convenience in several ways. First of all, the order administration of the Softpak solutions automatically includes a link to the associated photos that are taken by users somewhere in the chain – in the warehouse or en route. But links to photos can also be included in communications with customers. For example, consider a confirmation of receipt or status update. “Companies must have the most recent version of our software and create an account with CargoSnap. Since the installation at Euro Nordic, several companies have shown concrete interest and installed the interface,” says Verbeet.

Complementary partners

CargoSnap is also happy with the collaboration with Softpak. “As partners we are complementary. Softpak is a strong player with years of experience in warehousing, transport and customs clearance. With our app we provide the ‘Proof of Condition’ that Softpak users need. Softpak can now give its customers access to a valuable mobile application, while we gain access to Softpak’s interesting customer base,” says Marcel Merkx, founder and CEO of CargoSnap.

Merkx sees opportunities to further expand the interface and thus the functionality for Softpak users. “Softpak’s customer base includes many SME companies. This interface gives them access to a handy and practical app that costs relatively little. With Euro Nordic we have our first joint customer with a critical eye, which enables us to improve our app even further.”
