Progress Developer

We are looking for a Progress OpenEdge software developer with a strong affinity for the logistics sector! Softpak has been supplying software solutions to port-related companies for 45+ years, such as container terminals and depots, shipping companies, warehouses, forwarders and customs declaration offices.

Organisation:

Softpak offers integrated logistics solutions for port-related companies such as shipping companies & shipbrokers, logistics service providers (WMS), forwarders including customs and container terminals and depots. From the head office in Ridderkerk, around 45 people work every day in an informal atmosphere to improve and renew Softpak’s software packages.

  

Function:

As a Progress Developer at Softpak you have a versatile position. You will be involved in, among other things, Database, Windows applications, Interfaces with external applications and parties, Scheduler tasks, Web Portals and Mobile Apps.

Your duties & responsibilities are:

  • Maintenance and further development of the software
  • Handling tickets
  • Fast bug fixes

Profile:

In your role as Progress Developer you work closely with other Softpak Consultants and Developers. It is therefore important that you are a team player and have good communication skills.

You have the following skills:

  • At least 5 years of experience in Software development
  • Knowledge and experience of developing in Progress OpenEdge 12
  • Good command of Dutch and English language, spoken and written
  • Experience in object-oriented environments, such as Java, is an advantage
  • Experience in web technologies, such as HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Angular, TypeScript is an advantage
  • Experience in the logistics sector
  • Experience with Jira is a plus
