Getting started as a Receptionist at Softpak in Ridderkerk! The customer is of course always central to you. With your enthusiastic character, you always greet customers with a smile. You are also involved in all kinds of different tasks such as invoicing, (project) administration and social media. A versatile job in which your input is appreciated!

What are your tasks?

After starting up your computer, first grab a good cup of coffee. So, now the day can really begin. You check the email that has arrived and forward it to the right colleagues. Of course, you can immediately answer the questions that you can answer yourself. You then start with the invoicing. This will happen in stages, because in between the phone has already rang several times and someone was at the door. Pleasant! You have a chat and give the customers the necessary information. When the invoicing is ready, you can start working on the (project) administration.

Before you know it it’s lunch time again. So, after having something to eat, your energy level is back to normal. Nice! Because you are in for a creative afternoon. You will be working on Softpak’s LinkedIn and Instagram page. You go through the images to be posted and write catchy texts. Yes, there are also a few nice comments. Of course you respond immediately! You also support the marketing department with selecting promotional gifts and assist with posting news items on the website.

While you are busy writing, the phone suddenly rings off the hook. There is a Microsoft malfunction that causes the entire Softpak system to no longer work. You know how to keep the peace and speak to customers. You listen to complaints with understanding and with your empathy you know how to give customers the feeling that they are heard. Fortunately, the malfunction was resolved fairly quickly, so you can get on with your day. You complete the social media communications and answer some emails. Before you close, you also schedule a meeting with the managing director for this week. A modernization of the office is planned that you will brainstorm about together.

What do you bring?

Enthusiastic and independent, that’s how you would describe yourself! You always speak to customers with a smile and you stand firmly on your feet. As a Receptionist at Softpak you also bring to Ridderkerk:

  • At least a completed MBO 4 education, preferably in the direction of management assistant or secretarial;
  • Minimal 1 year of relevant working experience;
  • In this role you will learn the basics of the software packages. So some affinity with software is a bonus!

Organization and department description

Softpak is an innovative software company, active in the logistics sector and based in Ridderkerk. They develop standard logistics software and implement it at port-related companies. We really work together as a team and together with your 43 colleagues you support customers located in the larger ports in Europe, with Rotterdam and Antwerp being the most common locations. Projects also occasionally take place outside Europe, for example a logistics player based in the port of Dubai.

It is a great company with an informal atmosphere and short hierarchical lines, which is characterized by customer loyalty. They are constantly working to improve and renew the software packages to give customers an advantage over the competition.

As a Receptionist at Softpak you will work 16, 20 or 24 hours a week in Ridderkerk. You work together with 2 direct colleagues, and in consultation you can divide your working days flexibly. Preference is given to Monday, Wednesday and Friday. You work together as a team and take over each other’s days, for example during holidays.
