What are your tasks?

As an IT Support Specialist, you will support Softpak’s clients. The system landscape at Softpak’s clients consists of core components such as databases, clients, and schedulers, often complemented by additional components like web services, mobile apps, and web servers for portals or kiosk PCs. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining the systems and ensuring everything runs smoothly;
  • Performing updates, where you temporarily bring the systems offline, execute the update, and then restart the various components;
  • Supporting clients with incidents and ensuring problems are resolved quickly!

Knowledge of ICT? You’ve got that covered! As an IT Support Specialist, you’re eager to keep learning while gaining hands-on experience. Clients will call you when they need help with the system, and you’ll know exactly what to do, keeping things clear and organized for both yourself and the client. Moreover, you have plenty of ambitions, and your new employer will give you all the space to realize them. Additionally, you bring the following qualities:

  • A completed MBO or HBO degree in IT;
  • At least 1 year of experience in a similar role;
  • Do you already have experience with Windows Servers, Linux, TeamViewer, Cisco, Citrix, Jira, or TOPdesk? That’s a great plus!

Organization and department description

Softpak is an innovative software company, active in the logistics sector and based in Ridderkerk. They develop standard logistics software and implement it at port-related companies. We really work together as a team and together with your 43 colleagues you support customers located in the larger ports in Europe, with Rotterdam and Antwerp being the most common locations. Projects also occasionally take place outside Europe, for example a logistics player based in the port of Dubai.

It is a great company with an informal atmosphere and short hierarchical lines, which is characterized by customer loyalty. They are constantly working to improve and renew the software packages to give customers an advantage over the competition.

As an IT Support Specialist at Softpak, you will work 40 hours per week in Ridderkerk. Together with the Softpak ICT team, you’ll be involved in delivering the Softpak system to over 300 clients, ensuring it stays up and running. Pretty cool, right?
